Air India Promo Codes & Discount Codes — Domestic & International Flights
The discount categories most people miss
Air India runs several standing concession fares that are usually worth more than a general promo code — but you have to select them when booking, not afterwards:
- Senior citizen fares — a percentage off the base fare, selected under “Concession Type” in the booking widget.
- Student fares — a flat percentage plus, on many routes, extra baggage allowance.
- Armed forces and family concessions on eligible domestic routes.
If you qualify for one of these, check it against the promo code discount before choosing — you generally cannot use both.
How Air India promo codes work
- Most are per-passenger flat amounts (for example ₹500 domestic, ₹1,000 international), so the saving scales with group size — a family of four saves four times over.
- Discounts apply to the base fare, not to taxes and surcharges.
- Card-linked offers require paying with that specific card, and are often the largest discounts available.
- Round trips frequently earn more than two one-ways under the same code.
Excess baggage is where costs hide
On international routes, paying for extra baggage online in advance is substantially cheaper than at the airport counter, and several promotions discount it further. If you know you are over the allowance, buy it before you travel — this is often a bigger saving than the fare code itself.
Air India promo code FAQs
Can I combine a promo code with a senior or student fare?
Usually no. Compare which gives the larger saving for your booking and choose one.
Does the discount apply per booking or per passenger?
Most Air India codes are per passenger, which makes them considerably more valuable for families and groups.
Why was my code rejected?
Common causes are a route or fare class outside the offer, travel dates beyond the offer window, or paying with a card other than the one the offer requires.
Are the codes valid on international routes?
Some are domestic-only, some international-only, and some cover both at different amounts. The offer terms state which.
When are Air India fares cheapest?
Booking well ahead, avoiding Indian festival periods and peak summer, and choosing midweek departures. Fares around Diwali and the winter holidays rise sharply.
